Properties

The Properties section holds everything your website publishes: listings, and the projects, areas and cities that organise them. The lists behind the forms (property types, amenities, cities, areas) live under Settings, Properties.

Listing types

A listing is one of three types. Your company switches on the types it uses; a type that is off does not appear in the admin or on the website.

TypeUsed forExtra fields
SaleA property for saleCompletion (ready or off_plan) and the handover date for off-plan
LeaseA property to let, long termNone
Holiday homeA short-stay homeMaximum guests

The extra fields show only for their type.

Listing status

Every listing has one of four statuses. The table shows where each status can go.

FromTo
DraftPublished
PublishedHidden, Withdrawn
HiddenPublished, Withdrawn
WithdrawnPublished
  • Draft is where a new listing starts. It is not on the website.
  • Published is live on the website.
  • Hidden takes the listing off the website entirely. Use it for a pause, for example while the owner decides.
  • Withdrawn also takes it off the website, but keeps its address: a visitor with an old link learns the listing is gone. Publishing a withdrawn property again keeps the same address.

The first publication time stays with the listing when you publish it again. Every status change is recorded in the history.

The Listings screen filters by type, status, area, project and featured, and searches by reference and title. Select several listings to publish, hide or withdraw them together; the same rules apply as for one. A “Needs work” filter finds live listings without a map position or a ready photo, and listings with a refused photo. Everyone who may see listings sees them; publishing needs the publish permission on your role.

The fields that matter

GroupFields
Identityreference (unique in your company), one slug per language
Texttitle, summary, description, each in English and Arabic
Locationarea (required), project (optional), map position, location_precision
Propertyproperty_type, bedrooms, bathrooms, size_sqm, amenities
Priceprice_amount, price_currency, price_period (night, month, year or total)
Complianceadvertising_permit_no, holiday_home_permit_no
Websitefeatured, sort_order

English is required. Where Arabic is empty, the website shows the English text. If your plan includes translation, “Save and translate” fills the other language after each save; you can still edit the result.

Each section of the form is a tab: Details, the languages, Location, Price and permits, Photos.

Photos

Upload photos on the listing’s Photos tab, drag them into order, and give each one alt text in English and Arabic. The first photo is the cover on the website; a listing without photos has no cover.

What happens to a photo once you upload it:

  • Camera metadata and the GPS position are removed.
  • Web copies are made at several widths, in WebP and JPEG, for fast pages.
  • The original is stored in the file storage your company connected (for example Google Drive). Until storage is connected, photos cannot be uploaded and a warning says so.
  • Web copies of published listings are served publicly; originals are never public.

Your company can set a quality bar: a minimum number of photos and a minimum photo width, each either a warning or a block when you publish.

Location and precision

The Location tab has a map. Click it, or drag the pin, to fill the latitude and longitude; typing the numbers moves the pin. “Remove the position” clears it. A position is optional, and the map opens around your other listings while a listing has none.

Set location_precision to exact when the pin marks the property, or approximate when it only marks the neighbourhood. The website gets exact coordinates only for exact locations.

Permits

The advertising permit number is the number your market’s authority issues for advertising a property, where one exists (Madhmoun in Abu Dhabi, Trakheesi in Dubai). Your company’s rules decide whether it is required before a sale or lease listing is published; the Abu Dhabi starter pack turns that on, and publishing without it is then refused with a clear message. The number is passed to your website so it can be shown on the listing.

The holiday-home permit number is optional.

Price visibility

Prices stay private unless you choose otherwise. On the Price and permits tab, “Show the price on the website” is off by default and can only be turned on when the listing has a price. While it is off, the website receives no price at all for that listing: no figure, no price filter, no price sort. The price stays editable in the admin.

Tick featured to let the website put a listing first or in a featured block. sort_order sets the order among listings when the website sorts by it. The website can also sort by newest.

Slugs and the website path

A slug is made from the title in each language when you first save, and you can edit it. Once the listing is published, its slugs are fixed, so links keep working. The website path follows your company’s pattern per language, by default /en/listings/{slug} and /ar/listings/{slug}. Both languages’ slugs find the same listing.

Listings from listing requests

When an owner sends a listing request from your website, the lead’s page offers “Create a listing”. The listing form opens as a draft filled from the answers the owner gave (purpose, area, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, size, price); answers that do not fit stay on the lead. Saving links the two: the listing records the lead’s reference as its source. The owner’s name and contact details stay on the lead and never reach the listing. See CRM.

Projects

A project (or building) is the optional third level under an area. It has a bilingual name, a slug per language, a sort order and a visible flag. Use projects when buyers search by tower or community name.

Areas and cities

Locations form a hierarchy: city, then area or community, then project. Every listing needs an area; the project is optional.

An area has a name and a slug per language, an optional short description in both languages, an optional image, a sort order and a visible flag. The website shows visible areas and projects with their count of published listings per type, so empty areas stay out of the filters until they have stock.

Drag rows to reorder cities, areas and projects, then press Save. Your company may start with a starter set of cities and well-known communities for its region; edit, hide or extend it as you like.

Property types and amenities

Property types and amenities are your company’s own lists, bilingual and ordered. Removing a type or amenity that listings still use is refused; take it off those listings first, or leave it in the list.
